How sending works

Email from InviteFromMe works in any browser. Sending from your own email or phone still uses your Mac, iPhone or iPad.

InviteFromMe

Guests see your name via InviteFromMe. Replies go to your verified email. Text messages still need your own device.

Only guests with email addresses will receive this send.

500 of 500 emails remain for this invitation, including all follow-ups.

When you tap Send

  1. This page opens Apple's Shortcuts app and starts Invite Sender, a free shortcut you add once.
  2. Invite Sender picks up the messages you just made, from InviteFromMe and nowhere else.
  3. It sends each one from your own Messages and Mail.
  4. It tells us each one went out, so your guest list shows who's invited.

What we see, and what we don't

We see that each message went out, and when, and your device's name if Invite Sender shares it, so you can tell your devices apart.

We don't see your inbox, your other messages, your contacts or your Apple account. A message's text is erased from our server once it's sent.

The permission questions

The first time, your browser asks to open Shortcuts, and Shortcuts asks before Invite Sender connects to InviteFromMe, sends a text and sends an email: about six questions. Choose Always Allow and later sends happen quietly. Allow Once asks again next time.
